I like work which demonstrates the untapped potential in the everyday and this is reflected in the materials I work with. This includes organic and inorganic materials such as thorns, ash, wind and plastic washing up liquid bottles. I'm trying to balance materials in different states in responding to a space, combining and staging different elements to activate a space and evoke a response in the viewer; a visceral hereness.
Familiar, yet unfamiliar, transitory in nature and impossible to preserve. I'm interested in ideas around presence/absence and notions of transformation and trace.
